Teens @ TechWorks! Coding Event – Saturday March 24th Baby, It’s CODE Inside

March 24, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Terrific opportunity for positive role modeling by BU Computer Science women (and some guys) for teen coders of all skill levels – from introductory Hour of Code to Python control of robots to Unity software for video game creation.   BU students team with IT professionals from BAE Systems, IBM, L3T, and Lockheed Martin to deliver coding programs; help participants create custom banners using an IBM System 360 printer, and observe Apollo era computers in action at the Vintage IBM Computing Center, the only place on the East Coast (and one of a handful of sites world-wide) to see vintage IBM hardware in action.

The Link Nickelodeon (1913),  Braille embosser, and Walk-In Pinhole camera will also be operating; Link Pilot Makers will not be flying (too noisy).

$5 admission includes coding, snacks, make & takes, plus $10 event T shirt (order by March 18th to ensure size availability).  The flyer is below.

Email info@ctandi.org  or call 607-723-8600 with questions and to arrange for invoicing for groups of students or attendance of coders under 13 years old.  Younger coders are welcome if arrangements are made in advance.
